Lost in May

Is Lost getting good again, or am I just forgetting how good it was initially? I like the move back towards surreal and quasi-supernatural mystery in the last couple of episodes. The return of the idea that the whole cast might actaully be “dead” is a welcome one. I don’t think they will push that much further, but they’d seemed to have forgotten all about that ambiguity for about..um…fifteen episodes. Also, the invisible guy is an intriguing development. So much of what made the show lag recently was its turn towards relatively pedestrian explanation mode. I think it is good to see them answering questions with more questions. Ultimately, this will tax their imaginations and we will find ourselves in a late-Xfiles phase, but there might yet be a a year or two of good story-telling between now and then.

Being invisible is the best superpower.
